2017 Desert Super Cup – Thanksgiving
As the sister tournament of the Phoenix Cup in March where over 300+ applied into, the Desert Super Cup is the Thanksgiving tournament to attend with over 40 fields in use with teams coming from across North America.
The Desert Super Cup will offer 6 levels of competition for each age group to ensure fair level of play for all: Diamond, Premier, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze for U9 through U19 boys and girls teams. For 2017, we are anticipating 300+ teams from throughout Arizona, out-of-state and internationally. This event is sanctioned and accepting teams from US Club Soccer / USYS and will follow all new US Soccer Development Initiatives.
WHEN: Competition will begin on Friday November 24th and the tournament concludes with Finals on Sunday, November 26th. Given the number if out of state teams, there is no guarantees to accommodate schedules requests.
WHERE: The Desert Super Cup will be played at some of most prime time fields on the west coast – Reach 11, Rose Mofferd Sports Park, Scottsdale Sports Complex, Tempe Sports Complex, Red Mountain Sports Complex and Quail Run Sports Park. Specific age groups will be assigned and play at respective facilities/fields throughout the weekend.
LEVELS OF PLAY:
U15, U16, U17 & U19 Age Group Brackets: Competitive teams that compete regionally and nationally. These divisions will be played in tournament format with group and playoffs/finals. College coaches and scouts will be invited to observe players participating in the Showcase Division.
Premier: U9 – U19 Single Age Group Brackets: Includes high-level Division I teams from across Arizona, out-of-state, and Canadian teams. College coaches and scouts may be on site to watch these games as well. There will be multiple flights within the Premier Division.
Platinum: U9 – U19 Single Age Group Brackets: The Platinum Division is for below average Division 1 and competitive Division 2 travel teams. There will be multiple flights within the Silver Division.
Gold/Silver/Bronze: U9 – U19 Single Age Group Brackets: These Divisions is primarily for lower level Division 2 teams, recreational teams and new travel teams seeking comparative competition. There will be multiple flights these divisions.

The Desert Super Cup is a GotSoccer a tournament and teams will be eligible to win points based on performance.
Teams will not be eligible for acceptance until the registration fee has been received. Any team not accepted will receive a refund. Teams accepted, paid and opt-out do not receive a refund.
Application Deadline is November 1st, 2017. Entries whose payment is not received by deadline will be considered late and incur a $50 late fee . The completed Check and gotsoccer application (with team, gender, and age group noted on the check) should be mailed to:

Credit Card Payment can be made through gotsoccer. ***Entry fee to be sent within 2 weeks of submitting the team application. Refunds will be made to all teams not accepted. Note: Teams who are accepted and withdraw from event do not receive a refund.
Acceptance notifications will be sent to those teams who qualify in a timely manner. Early acceptance may be granted for teams traveling from outside the state of Arizona, with the decision made within two (2) weeks after receiving the application provided the application and payments received before the deadline.
Applications will be accepted from teams affiliated with USYSA, US Club Soccer, Canadian Soccer Association and FIFA affiliated youth soccer associations outside of the United States.
- $495 for U9 & U10 (playing 7 v 7),
- $595 for U11 & U12 (playing 9 v 9)
- $750 for U12, U13 & U14 (playing 11 v 11)
- $995 for U15 and older.
Reminder: Entry fees received after the Monday, October 15, 2017 deadline date will incur an additional $50.00 late fee.
TRAINERS & MEDICAL STAFF: Athletic trainers will be onsite at all facilities to ensure the safety of our athletes.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each team is guaranteed a minimum of 3 games with a finals for all brackets. Referee fees are included in the registration fee. U8 and U10 teams play 7-a-side and may carry up to 12 players. U11 and U12 teams play 9-a-side and may carry up to 16 players. U13 to U19 teams play 11-a-side and may carry up to 22 players on their roster but only 18 players can play in any given game.
U9-U12 are allowed 4 guest players (included in the roster maximum)
U13 and up are allowed 6 guest players (included in the roster maximum)
THIS IS A STAY AND PLAY EVENT FOR TRAVEL TEAMS. All teams booking hotel rooms must use the selected hotels provided by the Desert Super Cup which is being managed by Housing Connections to ensure competitive rates are offered at quality hotels. Any travel team not using the approved service will NOT be permitted to participate in the tournament and a refund will not be issued.
Any teams registering after the deadline will be placed on an active waiting list depending on availability based on the size of the divisions and flights.
